Ok... so what have I been up to recently? It's difficult for me to remember, everything starts to blur into one.
I think last time I wrote my grandfather had just passed away. It wasn't unexpected and he is now where he belongs, with my gran, but it was really difficult for me to not be at home during that time. I went to St. Paul's cathedral during the funeral - 2pm at home, so 12pm here - and was lucky enough to have a service on at the time, so that's how I said my goodbyes.
After that, I had minor surgery on my back, so it was a pretty hectic week. I had to have a small lump removed from just beneath my shoulder blade - very painful and I got 3 stitches. The very next day was 'Aussie day' - Australia's day of independence, where they celebrate by getting rat-arsed. Anyway, this means fry-up breakfast at 7am at my house, with 3 bottles of champagne, for 3 of us, an Aussie flag, Aussie stickers and a home decorated tops. Don't worry - mine still told everyone I'm proudly South African. In fact, I nearly got beaten for it.... Anyway, back to the point. We were at Temple Walkabout by 10am, just in time to jump in the front of the queue and get in when the doors opened, and the place was packed - and I have newly put in stitches. Not a very clever idea, but I'm strong like bull :) We drank there for 2 hours then I went with Dane to the Wimbeldon walkie - bumped into the most random people. People I never thought I would see again, it was great. We drank lots, Dane got roped into some iron man and skulling compos.... and we both got into a fight we the same guy. Dane knocked him out, the guy deserved it, and I fought with him cos the guy wouldn't let it go. Then he called me a dirty bitch for being a saffa - a South African - he was lucky I had had surgery the day before. About 11pm we made our way home - it was a very long day of drinking....
What else - oh yeah, I went to watch England vs Wales at Twickenham for the 6 nations. 82 000 people - it was amazing. I went with work - we took our clients - and surprise, Janelle is the only girl amongst the boys. We had an awesome 3 course meal in a marquee before the game, free drinks the whole day, dinner afterwards and then we went to a pub called the Barmy Arms. It was good fun.
And that's about it for the moment. Right now it's just work work and more work. JPMorgan is coming to an eventual end - it's been killing me (one of my clients at the moment). Next week I am going to Scotland (for the 1st time) for a meeting. The meeting is early on the morning of the 15th, so I have to go up the night before - Valentines night - and spend it in one of our client's hotels. Dane is happy he doesn't have to buy me anything haha. But instead of coming home with my boss on Friday, Dane is going to meet me in Edinburgh in the afternoon and we will spend the weekend there. I'm so excited.... so guess that's what I will write about next.
Til then....
